If you are drawn to solitude and wish to craft your own brand of witchcraft, unique to you, then you might be a hedge witch! Green witchcraft covers a broad spectrum: the way of the green witch is one filled with lots of ideas to bring you closer to Mother Earth. All crystals and gemstones are intuitively selected, cleansed, charged and ready to strengthen your bond with the universe! The author also builds a framework for readers to become comfortable writing their own spells, which is the goal.

Witchcraft itself is a practice that involves the use of natural energies as an aid to accomplishing a task or reaching a goal. Some of the items you can expect to find in an apprentice box are the Informational Packet, Custom Designed BOS pages, Custom Designed Spell, Incense, Oils, Herbs, Candles, Altar tools, Jewelry and more. in my opinion it's a better book to have handy as there are a lot of useful recipes ect that you will not remember. With the well-tuned awareness that the green witch strives to possess comes a knowledge of who and what will be affected by her actions and choices. If you see auras, feel energies, love shiny things, and enjoy making grids, then you could be a crystal witch. However, I found it an exceptionally dry read for some reason, despite my interest in the subject matter. Folk magic is composed of traditions and practices that have been handed down in a geographic or culturally specific area. The way that the author referenced "ancient traditions" or just failed to reference the cultures that used the ritual unless it was Wiccan, Nordic, or Western Occult (for example, asking a tree permission to harvest is an Indigenous ritual that was never cited) really rubbed me wrong, especially being encouraged to freestyle the rituals taken from other cultures without knowledge, awareness, or permission.

The Green Witch understands that the earth incorporates the planet and all living things upon it, including animals, plants, and people. It covers methods of initiating yourself as a solitary green witch, to methods of deepening your practice, making it over all the perfect book for anyone looking to get started on the green witch's path. Instead, we are referring to the various practices from diverse places that come together to inform the modern green witch and wisewoman. Contains a fair amount of reference to herbs, as you would expect by the green witch theme, however the narrator nearly drove me bonkers with her inability to notice that the word “herbs” actually starts with a letter “H” I do appreciate this is a dialect issue and maybe this is just how it’s spoken in america, but ahhhhh!Working with the earth means that to act against it would be counterproductive, and that includes acting against a member of the earth’s extended energy, such as other people, animals, plants, and so forth.

What we need to do is discover how to connect in our modern environment to that earlier knowledge that is waiting for us to find it again. With this understanding, and the sense of responsibility and guardianship for life that she also possesses, a further focus on ethics is unnecessary. With The Green Witch you’ll find the information you need to develop and nurture the spiritual practice of green witchcraft—from advice on walking the green path in the modern world to information on essential herbs, plants, trees, stones, and more. Green witches respect nature above all else (although many other types of witches work with nature too! It gave this book 2 stars because I did like some parts of the activities, as they are a decent structure to build on, but it’s fairly bare bones. It made a clear distinction between witchcraft and Wicca (always nice) and it also made a point of mentioning that the path of a green witch is secular and can be paired with any religious or spiritual beliefs (this isn't something I couldn't have guessed for myself, but as my spirituality can only be described as 'eclectic' it was nice to read.

They may study the history, traditions, and cultural associations of different plants and herbs as well as use them in rituals, potions, and spells. It’s likely the spiritual ancestors of modern green witches who chose to live apart from the center of community life.Although honoring the earth and being aware of the natural world is a large part of the majority of modern alternative spiritualities, the green witch is not necessarily a member of an alternative spiritual path. A green witch is defined by her relationship to the world around her, by her ethics, and by her affinity with the natural world. And I will heartily admit that they managed a definition of Kitchencraft that's close enough within an acceptable ballpark that I have no real complaints. I say better weather, but what I mean is better, once the storms associated with the equinox have passed… light and dark fights it out until light wins, so watch the stormy weather as can lead to stormy relationships!
